More Then Anything Else
Benett M LA 1-2

There are many things I want to do and accomplish and things I need to improve on. The thing I want to do more then anything else is to be a professional football player. I want to be the best player ever to step on the gridiron. In order to accomplish these goals I know I need to work way harder than anyone else because I don’t have the natural skills that others around the country have. If I do this I am sure I will fulfill my dreams and someday be able to play on in a NFL stadium on their elegant turf.

I see him drop back into the pocket searching for help. I wait for the right opportunity. I wait for him to turn his back. It takes a few seconds for him to turn around. Then I strike! I come after him like a cat chasing a mouse. I catch him by surprise and nail him. He falls like a box of rocks. He knows he had no chance to get away. I feel a jolt of pride surge through my body as I achieved my sixth sack of the season. At this rate I will have twelve sacks this year. I love the delayed blitz. I love it because no one knows when your coming or where you will strike. Therefore you get a free run at the quarterback. The only time you don’t get a sack on these plays is if the quarterback gets the ball out of his hand very quickly. I always hate when that happens.

My sixth grade Mustang football team was having a pathetic season. After starting the year 2 wins with no losses we lost 4 of our first team starters. Unfortunately we had no depth so we were really messed up when this happened. We lost a receiver, running back, and a lineman. This really hurt because two of the three people started on offense and defense. After this we didn’t win a single game the whole rest of the dismal football season. Luckily, I got over this seasons record because my dream is to play D1 college football. Everyone else though was really down on are record this year. It was extremely hard to stay positve through this horrific football season this year. Everyone kept looking at the past while I worked on getting prepared for highschool football and an attempt to play somewhere in college.

Next year my football team will have to split up. This is because my monstrous coach was so bad at coaching. First, he didn’t know much about football. He also never was accountable for anything that happened on the field. He would draw up terrible plays then, blame us for not executing them. On top of all that he was a control freak. He always had to be in charge of every little thing that he had little control of. I think if he had focused on one key aspect of the game and he might have been a way better coach.
